At 18th & 19th Century Recycling, we specialize in salvaging and reusing antique lumber, and the preservation of historic buildings.
Our business focuses on reusing existing materials, which is more cost effective and environmentally friendly than traditional demolition.
In addition to restoring a number of structures, we offer full relocation services through our associates. Our previous projects have involved the dismantling and relocation of a 160 year old Vermont cottage belonging to former New York Governor, George Pataki.
When tackling your project, we will work with your architect to ensure the proper materials are used. We work closely with historical consultants to guarantee that our work is authentic and your historic preservation goals are met.
We work with many different materials, including but not limited to: hewn oak-chestnut beams, red barn boards, and resawn chestnut (all subject to availability). All of our building materials are reclaimed; some dating back to as early as the 18th century.
Knowledge is essential in the salvaging, restoration, and re-use of historic building materials. With over 30 years of experience in our field, you can trust us to faithfully complete the job.
